Aquilegia canadensis

Life: Perrenial

Size: 18-24"

Light: Partial Shade

Water: Normal, Well-Drained

Soil: Loamy

The nodding, nectar-filled red and yellow flowers appear for many weeks in spring, attracting early visits from butterflies and hummingbirds. They make excellent cut flowers, along with their interesting maidenhair fern-like foliage, and do well in both beds and containers. After flowering, remove dead leaves to encourage new growth. It often re-seeds itself and is deer resistant.
