Aquilegia dichroa

Life: Perrenial

Size: 124"

Light: Partial Shade

Water: Normal, Well-Drained

Soil: Loamy

A beautiful, blue spring bloomer, attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds, this Portugal native has adapted well to Texas, despite the limited number of columbines capable of doing so. They make excellent cut flowers, along with their interesting maidenhair fern-like foliage, and do well in both beds and containers. After flowering, remove dead leaves to encourage new growth. It often sows itself in ideal locations.
