Aquilegia hybrida (‘Spring Magic’ Mix)

Life: Northern/Indoor Perennial, Texas Annual

Size: 14"

Light: Partial Shade to Morning Sun

Water: Normal, Well-Drained

Soil: Loamy

From late winter to spring spring, these showy columbines provide large, long-spurred, two inch long flowers in vibrant shades of light and navy blues, pinks, and roses, all with white centers, as well as solid whites, that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. They make excellent cut flowers, along with their interesting, compact clumps of maidenhair fern-like foliage, and do well in both beds as a border front and tucked into containers. After flowering, remove dead leaves to encourage new growth. Though technically a perennial, it grows as an annual in Texas due to its intollerance of long, hot summers.
